The Ancient Orient Museum’s collection includes unique archaeological pieces from Anatolia, Mesopotamia, and Egypt and the rich cuneiform tablet archive of 75.000 objects.

The new concept developed for this permanent exhibition is to bring a unique thematic approach to its galleries, placing two great civilizations of the era facing each other through the building.

Tiled Kiosk was built for Mehmet the Conqueror in 1472, and it was the first building of the Topkapı Palace. Despite the changes throughout its history, the portico entrance has remained the only example of Ottoman civil architecture in Istanbul that reflects the Seljuk style.

The general idea of our concept project is to create a museography that will be in harmony with the space, without any significant visual interference of the perception of the space itself.
